Yaryna Ferencevych, a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service, is Deputy Chief of Mission at U.S. Embassy Nicosia. Most recently, Ms. Ferencevych was Deputy Director of the Office of Eastern European Affairs, and a Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs. During her most recent overseas assignment as Counselor for Political and Economic Affairs at U.S. Embassy Bridgetown, she worked to strengthen U.S. bilateral relationships with seven Eastern Caribbean nations and the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).

Her other overseas postings include U.S. embassies in Ukraine, the United Kingdom (Transatlantic Diplomatic Fellowship), Afghanistan, Iraq, and Honduras. Ms. Ferencevych worked in international finance and public relations prior to joining the State Department. A graduate of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (BA, MSPP) and Georgetown University (MSFS), she speaks Ukrainian, Russian and Spanish.
