It has come to our attention that several local companies/organizations are receiving emails with the subject Request for Quotations (RFQ) for solar generators. The emails are sent from email@example.com and claim to be from the U.S. Embassy Nicosia.
This is a fraudulent email and the U.S. Embassy did not send it.
Spam email can contain viruses or links to malicious websites. The Embassy recommends:
- Do not click on any links, images, attachments contained in the email
- Do not respond to this email.
- Do not forward this email.
In the future if you receive a request for quotations or solicitation from the U.S. Embassy, you can check if it’s legitimate by viewing the U.S. Embassy Procurement Office’s official website at https://cy.usembassy.gov/embassy/nicosia/procurement/ or contacting the Procurement Office on 22-393574.
