Announcement: Spam/Fraudulent emails from

It has come to our attention that several local companies/organizations are receiving emails with the subject Request for Quotations (RFQ) for solar generators.   The emails are sent from and claim to be from the U.S. Embassy Nicosia.

This is a fraudulent email and the U.S. Embassy did not send it.

Spam email can contain viruses or links to malicious websites.  The Embassy recommends:

  • Do not click on any links, images, attachments contained in the email
  • Do not respond to this email.
  • Do not forward this email.

In the future if you receive a request for quotations or solicitation from the U.S. Embassy, you can check if it’s legitimate by viewing the U.S. Embassy Procurement Office’s official website at or contacting the Procurement Office on 22-393574.
