Passport Services
Apply for or renew a U.S. Passport

If you have reservations to travel in the next fourteen days, do not wait until the day of your flight! Make an appointment at the U.S. Embassy to apply for an emergency passport during the following hours (except on U.S. or local holidays).

Consular hours: 7:30 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Emergency passports will be ready for pick up in two business days after you apply.

Please follow the instructions outlined below when preparing to apply for a U.S. passport in Cyprus.
  • Do not follow the instructions pre-printed on the passport forms.  The forms incorrectly state that Passport Services will not mail a passport to a private address outside the United States. Applicants may write a Cypriot mailing address on the forms but are required to provide a self-addressed envelope with postage stamps of €2.52 for the return of their new passports via Cyprus Post. One envelope should be provided per applicant. If you are also requesting a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA), your envelope should be A4 size. Passports submitted to support an application for a new passport will be canceled and returned with the applicant’s new passport.
  • Social Security Number Requirement
You must include your Social Security number on your passport application. Your application will not be processed until you provide your Social Security number or provide a signed statement that you have never been issued one. For further information regarding this requirement, please refer to travel.state.gov. Learn more about how to apply for a Social Security number on our website.

  • Please make sure the stamps are for postage and not duty/Χαρτόσημα stamps.
  • Passports can only be sent to addresses in The Republic of Cyprus.
