U.S. Passport Applications
Consistent with current measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Cyprus, routine U.S. citizen services are limited, including passport and Consular Report of Birth Abroad applications. We will continue to provide emergency services to U.S. citizens. If your current passport is/was issued when you were age 16 or over, is/was valid for ten years and has not expired more than five years ago, we highly encourage you to send your passport application by mail. Otherwise, see important instructions below for making a passport appointment at the U.S. Embassy.
U.S. passport holders who will have less than six months validity on their passport and have upcoming international travel should consider renewing their passports as soon as possible. It is especially important to also check the passports of any minors who may be travelling. Passports for minors have a shorter validity period (5 years) than passports for adults (10 years) and thus may expire sooner.
