U.S. Embassy Nicosia has launched a new initiative for people with special needs as part of our improved and inclusive customer service. The first “Quiet Afternoon” was hosted by the Consular Section on March 31, 2022 with special attention to minimizing distractions and offering personalized service to applicants with sensory processing difficulties.
In consultation with local experts, Consular staff will implement best practices for interaction with applicants with developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. Accommodations include reduced noise, dimmed lighting and shorter wait times. These simple but thoughtful changes will ensure that our special needs applicants are made to feel comfortable.
For U.S. Citizen Services – U.S. citizen applicants with special needs, or their parent, guardian, or caregiver, can contact acsnicosia@state.gov to schedule an appointment.
For Visas – An applicant with special needs, or their parent, guardian, or caregiver may request information on how to schedule a non-immigrant visa appointment by emailing consularnicosia@state.gov.
More detailed information about the overall visa application process is available online at the GSS website, or dial +357 22-232-082, or email esee_contactus+cy+info+en@visops.net.
Appointments are limited and will be available to qualified applicants on a first come, first served basis.
