PASSPORTS
Passport Renewals (Age 16 and Up)

OVERVIEW

If you are eligible to renew your passport by mail, we strongly recommend you use this option to avoid unnecessary travel to the Embassy.  Online fee payment is currently available for passport book renewals only.  If you wish to renew or apply for a passport card, you must make an appointment to apply in person at the Embassy or Consulate nearest you.

Ways to Renew Your Passport:
  • By Mail with Online Fee Payment (Fast and easy. NOT available for passport cards).
  • In Person (If circumstances necessitate an in-person application).
  • Your last passport was issued before 16 years old of more than 15 years ago.

NOTE:
  • Applications to renew a damaged passport may be accepted at our discretion if all the identifying information is still legible. If the photograph or identifying information is illegible, or the passport is significantly damaged, please refer to the information regarding Lost/Stolen/Damaged passports.
  • You can renew your passport even after it expires. If you have an expired passport, please click “By Mail with Online Fee Payment.”
  • Do NOT send your application to the National Passport Processing Center in the U.S.  This will significantly delay your processing.
